Trade Minister: Turkey's Economy is Recovering and Ready to Face Market Fluctuations

Turkish Economy Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said that the rising of Turkish exports during September proves that the Turkish economy is booming and reveals the mistaken economic analyzes that have recently come to light.

September witnessed a record growth in Turkish exports either to new markets or to traditional markets, which means providing more jobs and more foreign exchange inflows, Pekcan said in an article published by "Euro News"

The minister pointed out that Turkish exports during the last month increased by 23%, worth 14.5 billion dollars. Turkish exports to the EU increased about one-quarter from the same month last year, and exports to East Asia rose by 80%.

She added that the increase in Turkish exports was not limited to traditional sectors such as the sectors of cars, agricultural products, clothing and textiles, and steel exports rose by 104%, despite the taxation war launched by the United States.

The Minister of Trade pointed out that this increase was the result of effective economic management and the skill of Turkish workers and the business community, and stressed that Turkey is ready to counter market fluctuations and hostile actions targeting the Turkish economy, whether motivated by political or misleading business policies.

The Turkish government is doing hard work to help raising awareness about what Turkish companies can offer and is making efforts to further promote Turkish products and projects internationally.

The minister reiterated that the Turkish government is committed to reach a volume of 500 billion dollars of Turkish exports by 2023, noting that September analysis confirms that the government followed approach pays off.
