The
number of foreigners buying properties in Turkey rose by 36.1% during last
month compared to the same period last year. The number of properties purchased
by foreigners in Turkey last month reached 2,415 apartments.
The
Iraqis ranked first among foreigners in purchasing properties by 407
apartments, while the Iranians came in second place with 217 apartments, the
Saudis ranked third with 206 apartments, and Russians came fourth with 165
apartments.
Istanbul
came first among the Turkish cities in the foreign real estate purchasing by
854 apartments, followed by Antalya city by 595 apartments, Bursa city with 141
apartments, and Yalova city with 108 apartments.
The
Turkish Statistics Department said in a statement published on Wednesday that
119,655 apartments were sold during the past month in all over Turkey, with an
increase of 16.7% since April.
The statement added that Istanbul city ranked first in the apartment sales of by 20.061 apartments, followed by the capital Ankara city by 11.919 apartments, followed by wit 7.028 apartments.
