The
Official Turkish Statistical Institute data has shown that real estate sales
for foreigners reached 2.858 unites in July 2018 with an increase up 65.6% compared
to same period last year.
According
to the published data (Turk Stat) on Wednesday, Istanbul topped the Turkish
cities in terms of sales, with 956 housing units, followed by Antalya, Bursa,
Yalova and Sakarya.
Iraqi
citizens came on top of the foreigner buyers of real estate in Turkey with 584
units according to the report.

by Iraqis, Iranians came second on the list with 321 units, Saudi Arabia with
211 units, Russia with 173 units and Kuwait with 171 units.
The
of real estate sales to foreigners in Turkey last year reached 22.000
properties. Iraqis came first in foreign nationalities by 3,805 units, followed
by Saudi Arabians with 3,345, Kuwaitis with 1.691, Russians with 1,331, and
Afghans with 1,078.
In
the first half of (2018), foreign property sales increased by 23% compared to
the same period last year.
Foreign
nationals bought 11,994 homes in the period of January-June 2018, according to the
report where 9,378 units were sold in 2016 and 9,595 in 2017.
The total number of houses sold in Turkey last July was 123,878, an increase of 6.9% compared to the same period last year. 57,617 of the sold homes were according to "Turk Stat".
Istanbul
received the largest share of total real estate sales in July 2018 with 19.503
homes, representing 15.7% of total sales.
Ankara
came second in real estate sales of, with 12,119 units representing 9.8% of
total sales, followed by Izmir with 6,322 units representing 5.1% of total
sales.
"Turk Stat" added that home sales through real estate loans accounted for 24.5% of total home sales in Turkey.
Last
year, total residential sales totaled 1.4 million units in Turkey, with an annual
rise of 5.16% compared to 2017.
